Activities
1. Preparation of specialised teaching resources:
a. Material on Astronomy fostering the acquisition and development of the
four basic skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
b. Reading and listening comprehension tasks.
c. A bank of recordings (audio and videos) to be used as extra practice by
students, and occasionally by graduates, in order for them to have
constant English input and enhance language learning.
2. Publication of the resources described in 1.
3. Support to professors and researchers: by revising the formal features (style and
syntax) of texts written in English by astronomers and geophysicists from
FCAG.
4. Assistance and guidance to students
a. Geophysics students under the new curriculum.
b. Astronomy students who would like to take the English subject as
independent candidates.
c. Students who, after passing the subject, need to consult bibliography in
English.
5. Institutional assistance: by collaborating on the translation, editing and proofreading of
institutional material written in English.

Practice: Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. in Room Ib (Conditional upon resolution of selection process). Starting date: 08/04.
- INGLÉS 2 (English 2):
Theory: Thursdays from 10 to 12 p.m. – Room J (Starting date: 31/03).
