Caracter\u00edsticas Generales<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La carrera de Astronom\u00eda tiene una duraci\u00f3n de cinco a\u00f1os y posee entre 30 y 35 materias, seg\u00fan las optativas. Los primeros tres a\u00f1os son de formaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica en matem\u00e1tica y f\u00edsica con algunas materias como astronom\u00eda general, astronom\u00eda esf\u00e9rica; a partir del cuarto a\u00f1o todas las materias son optativas seg\u00fan la especialidad elegida, que se completa con Seminario y Pr\u00e1ctica de la Especialidad.
En cuanto a los horarios, si se cursan todas las materias correspondientes a cada a\u00f1o, demanda casi jornada completa.
En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os de la carrera, los estudiantes tienen a su disposici\u00f3n un profesor consejero, quien los ayuda en el dise\u00f1o del plan de materias optativas que definir\u00e1n una rama de especializaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u00e9 es la Astronom\u00eda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El estudio de los diferentes cuerpos celestes -su formaci\u00f3n y evoluci\u00f3n, sus aspectos f\u00edsicos y qu\u00edmicos-, las teor\u00edas cosmol\u00f3gicas y el universo son temas de quienes estudian astronom\u00eda y luego ejercen como astr\u00f3nomos. El universo es el laboratorio de los astr\u00f3nomos.
Esta ciencia tiene diversas \u00e1reas tem\u00e1ticas tales como las Ciencias Planetarias, Cosmolog\u00eda, Din\u00e1mica, Estructura y Evoluci\u00f3n Estelar, Astrof\u00edsica, Astrometr\u00eda, Medio Sol-Tierra-Luna, \u00d3ptica, Astronom\u00eda Cultural, Radioastronom\u00eda, Estructura Gal\u00e1ctica, Espectroscop\u00eda; Fotometr\u00eda; Mec\u00e1nica Celeste. Cada una tiene su especialidad y al vincular sus trabajos e investigaciones, desarrollan un \u00e1mbito de excelencia para el progreso de esta ciencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campo Profesional<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los egresados en Astronom\u00eda pueden dedicarse a la docencia, a la investigaci\u00f3n en distintas \u00e1reas tem\u00e1ticas y en distintas instituciones del pa\u00eds, a la vez que realizar trabajos con la comunidad astron\u00f3mica de otros pa\u00edses. En esta profesi\u00f3n es com\u00fan realizar trabajos en forma de cooperaci\u00f3n entre pares y\/o instituciones.
El campo observacional y el te\u00f3rico se nutren mutuamente en el hallazgo de nuevos resultados, en la verificaci\u00f3n o refutaci\u00f3n de hip\u00f3tesis y en diferentes l\u00edneas de trabajo.
La ciencia no es un compartimento estanco y los astr\u00f3nomos trabajan tambi\u00e9n junto a profesionales del \u00e1rea inform\u00e1tica, ingenier\u00eda, f\u00edsica, biolog\u00eda, matem\u00e1tica, antropolog\u00eda, t\u00e9cnicos, etc. As\u00ed, son parte de proyectos y desarrollos de nuevos instrumentos astron\u00f3micos, observatorios de diversa naturaleza, astron\u00e1utica, sat\u00e9lites, \u00f3ptica, aceleradores de part\u00edculas, energ\u00edas renovables, y m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
